Diane Whitmer, PhD
Dr. Diane Whitmer received a PhD in Computational Neurobiology from the University of California at San Diego, and completed post-doctorate research at Stanford University; Starlab in Barcelona, Spain; and Scripps Institute of Oceanography.
While at Stanford University, Dr. Whitmer was a Postdoctoral Scholar at the Movement Disorders Center, where she studied the neural basis of movement disorders and the effects of deep brain stimulation on brain signaling. She has published professional articles related to movement disorders in a number of medical journals including Frontiers in Human Neuroscience, Journal of Neuroscience and Neurocomputing.
Dr. Whitmer has presented her research at conferences throughout the U.S. and abroad. She is the recipient of numerous awards and fellowships, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Cognitive Science from Dartmouth College.
